The telecommunication and wireless industry in China is well-known for offering quality services. China Mobile, China Telecom, and China Unicom, the top 3 companies of the China telecommunication market are willing to allow the prepaid subscribers to carry-forward their unused data balance to the next month. According to the three Chinese telecom companies, the tariff change is especially meant to implement the policy needs of the state government regarding tariff reduction and network speed upgrade. By allowing subscribes’ to carry-forward their previous month’s unused data, these three companies are planning to aim at customer satisfaction.

In April, the Chinese government had complained that the Chinese telecommunication services and broadband networks are neither affordable nor fast. The companies were required to improve their services, network speed, and offer broadband network services at affordable costs. Considering the complaints received from the Chinese government, China Unicom, China Telecom, and China Mobile, agreed that they would plan to lower the data rates in May by around 40%. All three top telecommunication companies claimed to meet the regulatory demands and offer satisfactory broadband services to the subscribers. China Unicom claimed that the company will take efforts to speed-up their construction of 4G network, offer enhanced data services to the subscribers, and enhance the diffusion in the 4G smartphone market.

China Telecom, meanwhile, will attempt to drive its sales volume by lowering its unit prices to offset the data policy. China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Telecom, all three prominent players in the telecommunication and wireless industry have acknowledged that lowering their sales volume will affect their net income and revenue negatively. China Mobile, on the other hand, has already started taking efforts to offer better broadband network services to the subscribers. China Mobile is considering a different approach to encourage data usage in order to account maximum usage of 4G network.
