The third generation Porsche Cayenne SUV is here! The German automaker revealed the first look of the new Cayenne and Cayenne S variants Tuesday at a ceremony in Stuttgart. Although the 2019 Cayenne resembles the current model, a look closer could unveil a completely different machine. It could be on sale in mid-2018 at a base price of $65,700 whereas Cayenne S could be priced starting from an $82,900.

2019 Cayenne Shares Much of Underpinnings with New Panamera

The new Cayenne has a 15.0% additional cargo capacity behind the rear seats which does not compromise the silhouette. Upgrades over the standard headlamps are expected to be two-tier: LED Matrix Beam headlights with PDLS or a Porsche Dynamic Light System (PLDS). Cayenne S could step up to a twin-turbo V6 engine of 2.9-liter capacity pushing the output to a 406 pound-feet of torque and 440 horsepower. The standard single-turbo V6, on the other hand, could make a 332 pound-feet of torque and 340 horsepower with a 3.0-liter capacity.

The 2019 Cayenne has been anticipated to share a lot with the latest debuted Panamera on the lines of agility and handling tricks while retaining a standard Porsche Traction Management (PTM) all-wheel drive system and a new eight-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission. With an intensive use of aluminum, the new Cayenne has lost some weight to come down up to a 143 pounds. A new lithium-polymer starter battery saving nearly a 22 pounds has been installed.

Buyers could be offered with an option to upgrade to a new set of mid-tier Porsche Surface Coated Brakes. They are predicted to be pampered with the latest edition of the Porsche Communication Management infotainment boasting of a 12.3-inch full-HD touchscreen.
