Android 8.0 Oreo is Here!

Android 8.0 Oreo is going to hit 2 bn active monthly users. (This figure is of phones and tablets only) Android 8.0 Oreo, is the 26th version of android and Dave Burke, Android’s VP of engineering said that this new version will be about foundation and fundamentals. The version was designed to ensure that Android will continue to enjoy a great position 10 years from now. The launch party of Oreo was complete with custom Oreo cookies featuring an Android robot design and green filling.

 Oreo will also be serving as the base for three new form factors: Android Automotive, Android Things, and VR Headsets.  Android automotive will be built into cars where Google will work with the car OEMs to integrate Android. Android 8.0 will be used as a base OD for Android Things, which will be an internet of things version, designed to manage embedded devices. Lastly, Daydream group of Google will launch a new form factor with Oreo, standalone VR headsets.

What can you expect from Oreo?

Google is revamping the notification system. It will now have new controls, new color scheme, and new layout. Oreo will come with a Google-branded security solution. Better battery life can be expected as app background processing has been reined in. Easy update development and streaming updates for easier installation by users will also be a feature in this version as previously there has been a problem with Android’s update process. More parts of Android will get modularized and updating of emojis and GPU driver will no longer require OS update.
