Apple is set to roll out Business Chat to enable Apple users to directly communicate within iMessage instant messaging service. The service is introduced so as to take on Facebook messenger and WhatsApp business.

Business chat is a new service that allows users to communicate directly with businesses within iMessage loop. The service will be launched in beta when iOS 11.3 will be available to the public this spring. The service announced last year at Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference will be debuted with the support of a few businesses, which include Hilton, Wells Fargo, Discover, and Lowe’s.

Business Chat Features to Rival Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp Business

Business Chat will facilitate easy conversation with a service representative, make payments using Apple Pay, or make an appointment in the Messages app. Business Chat does not share user’s contact details with businesses and provides users the ability to terminate chatting at any time.

As per a recent Facebook-commissioned analysis by Nielsen, 63 percentage of the respondents said their communication with businesses has increased in the last two years. In 2017, more than 330 million people connected on Messenger with a small business for the first time. Over 1.2 billion Facebook users are connected to an overseas small business, of which more than 250 million people are connected with a business in India. Also, 42 percent Facebook users in India are connected to at least one small and medium business (SMB) overseas and 65 percent Indians are connected to at least one domestic SMB

Prior to this WhatsApp introduced WhatsApp Business - a free downloadable app for Android users for businesses to communicate with their customers in India.
