Church’s, the U.K.’s luxury brand of footwear, will now be available to customers in India after a one-of-a-kind distribution tie-up with Heel & Buckle, a multi-brand retailer. The footwear from Church’s will be available at a price that ranges up to INR 72,000.
Heel & Buckle’s managing director Dhiraj Bathija said that the entry of Church’s into the Indian markets marks a major tie-up and the footwear will be available at all Heels & Buckle outlets.
Currently, Heel & Buckle has three stores in India: Delhi, Mumbai, and Gurgaon. The price range of Church’s footwear starts at INR 20,000 and goes up to INR 72,000. The footwear, Dhiraj stated, is retailed and priced the same as those sold in outlets in the U.K.
Looking to widen its market in India, Heel & Buckle will be setting shop in 12 more outlets across the country in 2015 and also plans to set up nearly 120 shop-in-shops over the course of two-three years.
Heel & Buckle is a niche retailer in the footwear industry and Dhiraj hopes to extend it footprint to more cities. Brands that are included under the Heel & Buckle portfolio comprise Magnanni, Alessandro, Pazzion, Rad Russel, and Paco Gil.
Church’s was established in 1873 in England’s Northampton by Thomas Church and his three sons. The company was taken over by Prada Holding N.V. in 1999. Church’s has been in the production of handmade men’s shoes since the year 1675. The company has been based more or less on family experience.
