Women in the manufacturing & construction industry will be awarded scholarships

Published Date : Dec 16, 2013

The Quad-City Chapter #50 of the NAWIC (National Association of Women in Construction) is now accepting scholarship applications from students and women who are keen on pursuing their career in the manufacturing and construction industry. The industry includes structural engineering, civil engineering, architecture, HVAC, construction management, interior designing, drafting, and more.

In addition, each year, many scholarships are awarded to the students who traditionally attend a trade school or a community college or practice a master’s or bachelor’s degree at a recognized university or college.

Nevertheless, to qualify for this scholarship program and enroll for the curriculum, an applicant must have completed at least one semester unit at a trade school, university, or college, and must be a full-time student in a construction-related program. The applicant also must have an average of 3.0 GPA. The proximity to the Quad-Cities is worthy but not mandatory.

Students can download the applications at www.nawicqc.org. The deadline of the applications is announced to be March 31, 2014.
