Recently, Implant Sciences Corporation announced that it shipped $1.2mn of its explosives trace detectors to several customers in the world. The explosive systems were traded across four continents in the world. They were sold to these regions to be deployed in a variety of applications such as cargo screening, mass transportation, aviation security, and infrastructure protection.
The devices sales jointly consisted of the desktop explosives QS-B220 and drugs trace detector as well as the handheld explosives trace detector QS-H150.
Implant deals as a manufacturer of explosives trace detection (ETD) and drugs trace solutions for different applications, especially for homeland security applications.
The QS-B220 utilizes IMS (Ion Mobility Spectrometry) in order to identify and detect the trace amounts of an array of military, commercial, and homemade explosives. Implant continues to win more orders from the international airports and TSA across the EU, added Bill McGann, CEO of Implant Sciences. He also said that the company’s ability to build such complex devices and ship them to different places in the world is because of their ramped up manufacturing capacity that helps them fulfill additional orders than ever before.
The QS-H150 uses IMS technology too. The device coupled with this technology has been proven to perform well in challenging environments and a variety of temperatures, including deserts and jungles.
An order of about 1,170 desktop explosive trace detectors (QS-B220) was placed by the U.S. TSA in November 2014. The TSA then deployed the device at several airports across the U.S.
The Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing, Darryl Jones said that the company has executed the flurry of ETD sales opportunities in EU, however, has not relented in the market penetration involving many other parts of the world. The demand for IMS technology grows globally for a variety of applications. The ETD market leader in sales and technology are extremely gratified and prepared to sustain this demand.
Implant Sciences has received acknowledgement, approvals, and certifications from various international regulatory agencies in the U.S, China, EU, France, Germany, and Russia. Department of Homeland Security has recognized it as Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technologies.
