Business interests was the largest asset class for Turkish HNWIs in 2015, accounting for 24.7% of HNWI assets, followed by equities with 24.6%, fixed-income with 19.2%, real estate with 16.1%, cash and deposits with 10.9%, and alternatives with 4.5%.

Business interests recorded the highest growth during the review period at a rate of 31.1%, followed by equities and alternatives at respective rates of 26% and 16.5%.

Alternative assets held by Turkish HNWIs increased from 4.4% to 4.5% between 2011 and 2015. HNWI allocations to commodities decreased from 1.6% to 1.0% of total assets during this period.

WealthInsight expects allocations in commodities to decrease over the forecast period, to 0.9% of total HNWI assets by 2020.

Turkish HNWI liquid assets valued US$305.2 billion as of 2015, representing 54.7% of total wealth holdings.
