Soft drinks remained stable with strong growers such as packaged water making up for the difference of the volume losers such as carbonates and juice. Packaged water continued to see high growth, as consumers move away from tap water and see it as a replacement for sugary drinks. All commercial beverages saw a small loss, fuelled by white milk and alcoholic drinks, the latter which are feeling the effect of increased excise duty.

Belgians are happy to move back to packaged water, away from tap water, but are also currently keen to replace other soft drinks with packaged water in an effort to decrease their sugar intake

In Private Label, the hard discounters are seeing a stagnation compared to the Private Label available in the supermarkets

Still drinks saw a positive note, thanks to a combination of slightly warmer weather and the UEFA championship

Iced/RTD coffee drinks benefitted from growing consumer awareness and increasing distribution channels

Sports drinks are moving more towards being a thirst quenching drink available at hard discounters where the drink is performing well
