Growing household incomes and improving consumer confidence in conjunction with growth in on-premise channels were the main driving factors behind the growth of all commercial beverages. However, unfavorable weather conditions did not support growth of the beverage market. The promotions on branded products continued in Q2-16. The majority of branded products were sold at a special discounted rate, around 30% lower than the original price. Soft drink sales are expected to grow slightly this year compared to the previous year in both the retail and Horeca sectors. Consumers are expected to remain highly price sensitive and likely to focus on special discounts on branded products.
